Flower Power

Happy New Year everyone!

Did you have a good time? Went partying or nice and calm at home? AND, any new goals for 2011? I’m curious! This year is going to be very exciting for me. I will be moving out and get my own place and I am also busy with a personal project where I will be selling my own favorite items such as nailart and jewelry in an online shop :) I also got offered a good contract at my current job so it’s all coming together piece by piece. Now I still have to find the motivation to finish school (just one project left and I’m done) but I am having so much problems with that. I want to do so many other things apart from school that I’m wondering if I’ll finish in time.. We will see, but as you’ve probably noticed my updates have been quite lacky the past 2 months. Once I am done with my schoolproject, which should be in 2 months, this blog is going to be more than alive again! For now I’m just gonna try and do one mani a week.

Today’s mani had to be glittery, happy, flowery and simple. Why? Cause I’m cold, sick and tired. Enough reason? ;) I used 3 sliiightly holographic polishes from a dutch drugstore called Etos. I had these ones just laying around and figured I’d give them a try for once. Since I finished my bottle of Seche and can’t be *rsed to buy a new one at the moment, I used my Trind Topcoat. It actually dried up nicely this time but normally I’m getting a bubbly finish, sucks! I’m off to enjoy a hot shower, hope I don’t bump my flowers off haha *clumsy* Bye!! Enjoy the weekend!

A Very Vampy X-Mas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Tomorrow it’s christmas and tonight I’m leaving to my mum to celebrate it there with family and yummy food and presents. The thing I notice about seasonal mani’s is that original designs are sometimes hard to find. That’s why I tried to do something ‘new’ and a little alternative ;)

It was extremely easy to make . Start with a black polish halfway your nail and move the brush sideways in a slight half circle stroke. Do the same thing on the other side and fill the rest in. If the shape isn’t really what you wanted.. no worries! You can correct this with your striper or any tool you use to make lines (worst case scenario: toothpick, dottingpen or an old cleaned eyeliner brush :D ) Since I didn’t feel comfortable in making a very detailed and difficult christmastree I just made 3 triangles and overlay eachother on the top and go from small to bigger! Easy, simple, looks alrighty! Finish it off with a rhinestone in whatever color and you’re good to go.

I hope you all have the best holidays and thank you once again for stopping by!

Forget Me Not

It feels like it’s been ages since I’ve put an update on here, although it’s ‘only’ been two weeks, I hate it! I’ve had a lot of ideas lately but simply didn’t find the time to put them in practise. This also means I didn’t even announce the winner of the MNY giveaway yet, aah! So.. are you ready?

“How pink can make you go horrified. so something with really sweet nice colors but kinda horrific ”

That’s what Jessica from Nailoholic.com wrote in her entry. Congratulations! Please e-mail me your address so you can enjoy the MNY polishes before christmas.

Now I’ve said before that pink isn’t really my color, but sometimes you can make such cute mani’s with it that I can’t resist. I’m not horrified by this pink Sweets for my Sweets by Catrice but D*MN this is bright barbie pink :-?

The title is inspired by every single visitor here. You really make me feel good when seeing you like what I’m doing here. Even though I don’t always find the time to update every few days you are still here. Thank you so much!

Lace ‘n Studs

Brrrrrrrrrrr <- that’s like my main thought the past couple of days. Grey clouds, snowstorms and icy wind = aweful lighting for making pictures, bah. Today I woke up with sun and got so exited I immediately grabbed my stuff and sat down to polish my nails. I started with Catrice’s new Absolutely Chinchilly! with the pattern from imageplate m57 on top in black. It reminded me of a mani I had seen on the interwebs a while ago and that got me started with my nailart pencil. I added some tiny silver studs from my Dollar Nail Art haul and there we were, lace nails, whohoo! A girl’s gotta love lace, right?!

I also want to thank everyone for the kinds words on my ring(s). Some of you have actually ordered the winged one already and I think that’s so awesome! Missed it? I editted my last post and added the Ebay link for you to buy it.

A small personal note: since my brainbleeding last year I’ve been having quite some breakouts, I didn’t have those before. I saw people talking about the Clinique Anti-Blemish products and the comments were positive. I went to my local Douglas store and they had these cute mini’s in a bag for only 12 EUR. I’ve been using the Spot treatment gel, clarifying lotion and clearing moisturiser for a week now and I must say that I see a difference. The redness becomes less and less and when applying the spot treatment gel the spot is gone two days after (or so dried out you just dont notice it anymore). Clinique is very expensive though, which sucks. Also I’ve read that for some people the line is agressive on the skin, I therefor suggest trying some mini’s first!

Oh oh oh! Another small thing I want to share with you… I met with KAT VON D!! Aaah! She was on tour for a booksigning for her new (awesome btw) book called The Tattoo Chronicles. It’s really interesting to read about all her clients and her personal notes. We were able to take a picture with her and we got our book signed. She is such a sweet  person and she really listened to the things you said, also, she gave big hugs to everyone lol! Cuteness. Did I mention she is abolutely beautiful!? I might just do a Kat von D-inspired mani, yeah! To the people that are actually reading all my shizzle today, which is quite a lot, i know, is there anyone that can get their hands on the Memento Mori (or another) palette from Kat von D? Ebay is so sooooo overpriced :-( ok, time to STOP! Bye for now! Thnx for stopping by :)

Ps: do you like the new layout? I can’t help myself, I get bored so easily with them :/ Wondering how long this one will last hihi

Green Queen

So ehm, it’s been a while.. Busy busy busy, annoying! BUT as promised on twitter I just needed to ‘make’ time for a new mani and here it is! I chose two colors that I love in combination; dark blue and bright green. The lime hex are from Dollar Nail Art and the beautiful 1-coat blue is the new Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans! from Catrice. I bought this together with the green Run Forest Run! (quite funny cause I STILL say/shout that whenever I see someone running lol ^^) and the greyish taupy Absolutely Chinchilly!. Three musthaves in my opinion.

Do you see the tiny lightblue flakies on the closeup pic? It’s so pretty. You won’t see it from a distance obviously but if you occassionally stick your finger nearly in your eye to look at a pretty polish you have on, like me, then it’s worth it ;) Time to enjoy the sight of the falling snow outside with a cup of hot tea now. Only downside of snowy weather outside is the aweful lighting for making pics, aw well, can’t have it all! Enjoy the weekend!

EDIT: Cause of all the sweet comments on the ring I’m going to tell you a secret. YOU CAN GET IT TOO! It’s right under your nose, … at Ebay :-D It’s cheap, the shipping is cheap and it got delivered in 3 weeks, awesome. They have great costumerservice also. Note: this is not silver, so be careful with adjusting the size. There are different sizes available, I’m wearing size 6 and it’s quite big lol! CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK <3
