SOTD: Koh Blue Universe
Aaannnddd a new Swatch of the Day.. I still find it remarkable how some polishbrands aren’t as popular as they should be. An example is Koh! I think in this case it’s because Koh is hardly sold outside of The Netherlands, but please correct me if I’m wrong. Koh has some amazing colors that are truely unique. One I just had to show is the flakielicious Blue Universe. Let the pictures do the talking…
Please refer to the ‘bottle-picture’ for the real color. I didn’t think this color would be so hard to photograph, due to the light from outside it looks brighter blue than it is. Let me tell you that this polish is a true gem for your collection. I have never seen a color like this, a some sort of dusty blue with teeny tiny silver particles and rainbow (but mainly red/orange) flakies. Koh nailpolishes retail for €14,95 (around $19) and are available at de Bijenkorf A’dam (NL), Douglas (EU) and their website Kohcosmetics.com.

Swatches: MNY Maybelline Collection
Hiiiiiii all. In between the spooky and awesome Halloween spirit I came across the new nailpolish collection by Mabelline New York at my local drugstore. The polishes didn’t look quite ‘original’ at first, but oh oh oh was I wrong!
Unfortunately they did not come up with names for their collection, which I find pretty annoying! Their colors vary from nudes to very dark and even a black, enough choice for everyone. I was actually amazed by the price, they are the same price as the beloved Catrice polishes; 2,49 EUR. One more thing worth mentioning: most are ONE-COATERS! Wowie! Take a look at the swatches and decide for yourself:
Aren’t they gorgeous? I love every single one of them. They dry relatively fast and the strokes are hardly noticable. The one that stands out is the green 761 which reminds me of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle, sadly I can’t confirm this 100% since I don’t own this beautiful polish yet. Another beauty is the purple 557, which has extremely small purple flakies in different colors. Oh and the blue, the blue is sooooo glittery and pretty! Oh oh oh ohhhhh andddd and and.. Ok you get my point. They are all lovely, especially for their pricetag.

Essence Matt(e) Top coat
And there we have another cheap innovation from the German budget brand Essence. I think we all have one ; a matte topcoat. Whether it’s from Essie, OPI, Orly of Manglaze, a matte is a must-have!
Their new polish is called Matt Top Coat and is EUR 1,79 in your local drugstore. The only matte top coat I own is the Essie Matte About You, which I love. Time for a comparison don’t you think?
I wanted to do this comparison together with a swatch of 2 of the new Essence polishes from the Denim Wanted collection: 04 Forever Mine (light blue) and 03 My Boyfriend’s Jeans (darker blue).

Ofcourse a picture never shows the 100% real view but I think this Essence Matt Top Coat has the same result as Essie Matte About You. I honestly don’t see a difference! This means that for about 2 dollars you can have a nice dupe of a more expensive polish like Essie or OPI etc. Nice ain’t it?

Catrice Caramé: Bronzed Brown
Hi guys!
Today I want to show you this lovely (read: LOVELY lovely) Bronzed Brown from
Catrice’s new collection Caramé!
It’s a medium brown with golden shimmer. I am going to wear this a lot, I’m sure of it.
It’s not too light, and not too dark for summery days. Just perfect <3
I also bought the other colors from Caramé so more swatches incoming soon

Matte is Murder

Hardly needs words now, does it? I seriously believe every single person on this planet needs

So I finally got my new camera, obviously ) No more blurry bad quality pictures on this blog.
I’m still playing with the settings a bit but I will master it soon I hope.
I bought the Nikon Coolpix S8000 in black. I’m in love!
Ps: Since you always see purple colors under this polish I tried something different. I used Essence Show Your Feet in Very Berry, a deep pink.
Ps2: Don’t you people wanna win things?! I have gotten 3 e-mails on my give-away post so far..

Ohhhh it’s a holo!
Hi again!
Today I have a quick swatch for you of the Nfu Oh holographic polish in #63. It’s a pretty pinkish color with very small particles. Weird thing is that it dries slightly matte, not at all shiny!
NOTE: It is most definately the worst polish ~ever~ to apply.
It dries in just a few seconds and you cannot go over the same place more than once. I used 3 coats and still wasn’t 100% satisfied.
I believe the outcome is worth the effort though..
Gotta luvvv this on a sunny day! Since it’s dark here atm I can’t make a more clear picture, I owe you that tomorrow
