Halloween nails pt 6: Pumpkins

Hi all!

First of all I want to thank everyone thas is participating in my giveaway so far, I’ve been getting very nice and cute ideas for mani’s you would like me to do on Pimp My Nailz. Funny, like 60% of you all said the same thing.. PUMPKINS! So, my dear readers, that’s what you’re getting tonight!

I’ve been using my stripers from ebay and my new cheapass nailart pencils, I really need to get used to using those but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. This design is easy but not so fast because of the lines. To add a little bit of dept in the pumpkin I decided to make a white line next to the black one. The orange is the awesome almost one-coater Catrice MAN, GO Tango.

Time for me to relax now, thnx for coming by and goodnighty!

Mayo Madness

Today I received my Manglaze order. I bought the white matte Mayonnaise and the grey matte Fuggen Ugly. I had to put Mayo on first cause I have been craving this polish since the release. Mayonnaise is a beautiful white nailpolish with a matte finish. If you look closely enough (read: really really close) you can see a light pearly shimmer, so pretty. Take a look for yourself cause in this case; pics say more than words..

How amazing is that?! I wanted to see how my Konad special polish in Pink would look on this bright white. I used one of the floral designs from plate m31 and added some pink rhinestones. Simple and fast mani! Try it yourself with these or different colors!

Do you like it? Cause I do! I’ll be wearing Manglaze Mayonnaise a lot, it looks gorgeous on it’s own and is amazing as stamping base. Keep up the great work Marc. Your inventions make us all very happy! I’m heading out to the cinema for Paranormal Activity 2 in a bit, curious if it can live up to my expectations :) Take care all!

Halloween special: Nightmare before Christmas

Did you really think I would make all kinds of Halloween mani’s and not include our beloved Jack Skellington?! I have been collecting statues and all kind of merchandise of Nightmare before Christmas since the first time I saw the movie. I’m basically a fan of whatever Tim Burton makes, he is my hero. What a fun, creative and spooky mind!

I am going to wear this mani @ Halloween for sure! The grey base color is Catrice’s London’s Weather Forecast which is a great soft creamy grey with a very slight shimmer, uber pretty. Jack, the hill and moon, and the houses were made with alllllllllllllllllllll of the following products: tootpick, dottingtool, stripers *evil grin* The yellow I used is actually a polish I have never used before; Catrice’s Don’t Feed The Birds. A lovely, slightly sheer yellow with a pretty yellow shimmer.

Hope you like it! Take care and thnx for stopping by again :)

Halloween nails pt 4: Mummies

Hi again!

This Halloween theme is driving me nuts,in the good way! So many ideas and so little time, ugh. This must be the easiest mani ever!! Everyone can do this and I encourage you to do so and see for yourself. OPI Alpine Snow is a great bright white which applies very well. I used two coats and it was complete even and opaque, great. I combined the Konad Special polish in black with the S6 imageplate from Konad. I absolutely love this plate. It has celtic-like design which I adore! With the tip of my black striper (or just use a pen/toothpick/dottingtool) I created the eyes. And guess what.. that’s all!!!

Watch it, you’re being watched!!! =)

Edit: the awesome Egyptian brushes for Photoshop were downloaded from here!

Halloween nails pt 3: Frankensteins

That’s one way of describing these Frankensteins..! This is the third design I’m making for Halloween 2010. I was inspired by a YouTube movie which I just couldn’t resist. The green/lime base I used is the new Essence Colour & Go Lime Up! I only needed one coat for this polish to be opaque and the drying time was quite fast. I used a black striper for the hair, lips and stitches. The eyes were made with a dottingtool dipped in Konad Special White. Check it out!

Excuse the un-polished thumb! This was before I finished both hands. My ritual is to always show my ‘to-be-posted’ mani’s to a good friend first & he tells me his honest opinion. Luckily for me, he liked it haha. I’m wondering if you show your creations to someone close to you as well before posting it on the interwebs! Let me know, I’m curious :)

Halloween nails pt 2: Dark butterflies

I couldn’t resist making the second mani in my Halloween series already. Did I mention how much I love this theme? No? I LOVE IT! AAAAAH! This design is black purple and it has butterflies It’s also very easy to create!

I used Catrice Back to Black as black base. This black is amazingly opaque but I still used two coats to be sure. On top I put some thin fimo flowers from Ebay. The white cross is from BM imageplate number 13. This plate also has bats, a spider, a witch and a spiderweb which I used in my Halloween nails pt 1. The rhinestones are from Ebay as well.

Thnx for stopping by and take care, dark ones!

Halloween nails pt 1: Spiderweb

A lot has happened since my last post. I’ve been to paris for a few days to get away from this aweful 9-5 mentality here. I didn’t have any vacation yet so this was my few days of relaxation, or so I had hoped! We walked for hours and hours and I think we saw every inch of Paris. The busride of 8 hours was terrible with a non-english speaking busdriver who let us take a 15 minute break in that whole drive, wrong dangerous and not good for your blatter cause seriously.. the smell that was coming from the bustoilet was the most aweful one I’ve ever smelled. If I had gone there I would have walked away with at least 6 diceases for sure! Eeew. We had a great time though!

BUT! Good times are coming, cause if there is one event I feel most exited about in The Netherlands it’s Halloween! I always do something special with Halloween. Whether it’s a party, going out, dressing up, Walibi World halloween theme, ANYTHING! I just need to do something with Halloween. Not sure what I will be doing this year but I know my nails will be in style with me!

I wanted to start my Halloween mani’s with the simplest design:

I used Catrice MAN, GO Tango as an orange base. Then I stamped the spiderweb from BM13 on top with Konad Special Polish in black. Added a little black pearl and voila! C’est ςa!

Stay tuned for more Halloween fun
